Joseph Guggino was born
in the town of Seaford,
New York, in the summer
of 1952, where he resided
until the spring of 1975.

His studies in the fine arts would
begin at Nassau Community
College in Garden City, NY. Later
he would study under the watchful
eye of E. J. Krisor in Ellensburg,
Washington, a quaint town

in the heart of Central
Washington, where he would
make his home.

Guggino would travel across
America, where he would seek
out raw subject material for
the unusual architectural-based
paintings that would
make a name for himself.

Guggino comments,
“... Even the most ordinary
structures, cropped within the
context of a certain array of
light, can yield extraordinary
results.

Suddenly, I was seeing
beauty in the mundane.”
